Goals
-talk to Discovery Inc. and attempt to sell "Pigs in a Blanket"
-have "Lotus" featured on Karma Tube and generate views and responses.
-show "Pigs in a Blanket" and link to pet adoption agencies and blogs about raising pot bellied pigs
Challenges
-Finding the right online venue for a personal and serious film.
-Can't put "pigs" film online before Discovery pitch falls through
Timeline
status on Wednesday, May 27 2009: Contacted Karma Tube. Waiting for response.
Found contact at Discovery.
Films are on-line.
Generating alternative "target behavior" to be able to finish on time.
Change of "Client"
Target behaviors were taking an unpredictable amount of time to achieve. (involved hearing back from people in charge of sites) So, I decided to change my "client" in order to work on a short-term promotional project. My new client is http://www.savorcalifornia.com. 5/31/2009
New Goals
-to create a video that showcases and explains what Savor California is about
-tiny goal1: to raise views of the video on Youtube.
-tiny goal2: to attract people to the site.
-bigger goal1: to have people sign up to the newsletter.
New Challenges
-client has minimal online presence. I can only use my own online network
without paying for advertisement.
-I have identified websites and blogs that appeal to the same kinds of people who would be potential customers of Savor California. But,
how do I get the videos on the site?
-working with the web designer has been ruled out for time and budget reasons. This eliminates the options of altering the savor california site itself.
Performance
First, I created this video from available footage.
Then, I put it up on Youtube, Facebook, and my own homepage. Through Facebook, and my own homepage, I am targeting people in my own personal network. It would be better to target the owner's personal network, or a similar/analogous one.
So, I gathered a list of sites that have mentioned Savor California's clients in the past, or that talk about gourmet specialty foods.
Feedback
here's the feedback on the work in progress.

Hi, Jane I put together a 40-second video that demonstrates what Savor California is about. Please follow this link to view it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKxznprbaqk and let me know what you think. I'm looking for food blogs/ recipe sharing forums, and other gathering places on the Internet for people who love gourmet specialty foods and beverages. I think that when the video targets the right people, they'll want to visit SavorCalifornia.com. Thanks! -Minjeong Kim

This is great -- I think it's an excellent idea.
